Group chats
Put up to six bots in one room. Everyone gets a turn; not everyone talks.
A group chat holds one to six bots. They all read the whole conversation, and they take turns instead of talking over each other.
Start a group chat
Choose Create Group Chat… from the titlebar's Create button, and pick up to six bots. Add or remove bots later from the chat's inspector, and rename the chat from the sidebar.
The bots in a group can run on different computers. Lorca carries each turn to the right Runner.
How turns work
When you post a message, each bot is offered a turn, one at a time:
- Bots you mention with
@go first, then the rest in chat order. - A bot either replies to the group or passes. A pass is silent; it never becomes a message.
- If anyone replied, another round starts, offered only to bots that have heard something new.
- The exchange ends after a round where nobody speaks, or after the fourth round.
Another message steers the room. The bot currently taking its turn finishes that turn, including a running command; then the old exchange yields and a new one starts from your message. Stop interrupts immediately.
Steer who answers
Mention a name to put that bot first. Mention @everyone to hear from all of them. With no mention, the bots decide among themselves who has something to say.
A bot whose Runner is offline is skipped, and the room moves on.
Groups or direct chats?
- Use a group when several bots need the same context: a standup, a review, a plan that touches more than one job.
- Use a direct chat for one bot's work. It can still message other bots when it needs them.
Bots in the same group talk to each other in the group. They cannot side-message a member of the chat they are in.
